Salvation
Path to Salvation
(1). Admit you are a sinner.
- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; - Romans 3:23
(2). Repent (Be truly sorry for your sins).
- I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance - Luke 5:32
- When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance - Mark 2:17
(3). Salvation is available only through Jesus Christ.
- For God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12
Simply put without a true belief in Jesus and his shed blood, there is no other way to GOD. And no hope for eternity.
(4). Accept the free gift of eternal life through Christ
-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.- Romans 10:9
- For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.- Romans 10:10
- For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8, 9
This sounds simple, it is in concept. However, carefully read Romans 10:10 you are not saved by just saying the words you need to BELIEVE the grace of GOD (in the sacrifice of his son Jesus on the cross as a payment of all your sins) was freely given and through that BELEIF is true salvation. All who believe have their names written in the Lamb?s book of life.
(5). Why do it?
- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord - Romans 6:23
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins - Ephesians 2:1
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.- Revelations 20:15.
(6). Receive Christ as your Lord and Savior (A Sample Sinners Prayer Below).
God, have mercy upon me, a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His blood for the forgiveness of my sins. I believe Jesus rose again from the dead and sits on the right hand of God. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus as my personal Savior, and cleanse me of my sins with your precious blood. Your Word says you'll turn no one away, and that includes me.
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
